Experience a contemporary interpretation of Oshibana, the Japanese tradition of creating art from pressed plant material. Pressing, unpressing, storing, creating and sealing will be explored, In the first Saturday class, we will create 2d pressed flower art to be sealed with lamination, On the 2nd Saturday we will explore 2D and 3D art to be sealed with gel medium.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Susan McChesney is a pressed flower artist with a long career as an artist and educator. This workshop will include a tour of the special exhibit Flora Symbolica; The Art of Flowers.
