Adult Studio: Embroidery on Paper

Create your own mixed media art piece with Julia Briggs. Julia will demonstrate how to use ink and block printing mixed with the warm texture of embroidery stitches and fabric to create a diverse art piece.  

Julia Petra is a multi-media, poly-lingual visual artist. She teaches art and design in New York, New Jersey, and North Carolina. She has a worldly art education which started in her home-town of Sao Paulo, Brazil. After majoring in Fine Arts and Art History in NYC, she continues to practice her art and teaches various mediums. Her passion for art and design comes from a philosophy of “lived in beauty”, and encourages students to travel, be creative thinkers, surround themselves with things they have made, and focus on beautiful, quality design.
