Art 21: Art In Twentieth Century Vol. 1
The companion volume to the PBS series introduces 21 American artists, established and emerging, working in a variety of media. Looking forward to the future rather than backward at the past, it provides profiles of the artists that discuss how they work and why, structured around four themes: place, spirituality, identity, and consumption. The goal is to enable readers to compare and contrast the artists' work as it relates to ideas, thoughts, and feelings common to everyone.
